In this week's episode we discuss mantra, one of the most ancient tools in the yogic tradition, and one of the most misunderstood. The word itself quite literally translates as "a tool for the mind". Not a magic spell, not a religious ritual - simply a sound or phrase used with intention to steady and focus mental activity. We discuss spoken versus silent mantra, the role of the mala, the importance of 108, and what japa and kirtan mean. If your mind is busy (whose isn't), mantra might be exactly the tool you've been looking for. Or not... but let's learn a bit about it anyway!
Emma and Andy try to keep their podcasts light-hearted and unedited, wherever possible, allowing for a more natural conversation style and an authentic representation of their characters. They aim to provide information and entertainment by mixing their knowledge, research and personal experiences with debate and (occasional) opposing view points. :-)
